Headlam Hall Wedding Photographer ~ Emma & Mike
“Both myself and Mike (and my bridesmaids, and guests) feel like we have made a friend and we are gutted he’s not going to be at every gathering with us!”
You probably won’t believe me but one of the main reason I got into shooting weddings and why I still love it so much it that I get to meet a whole bunch of new people and make some new friends. And Emma & Mike’s wedding was no exception. From the moment I met these two we just clicked and it felt like I’d known them for years! Emma & Mike deciding to get hitched at the gorgeous Headlam Hall. This was only my second wedding at Headlam Hall and I’d completely forgotten how much I love it as a venue. The team over at Very Eventful knocked the ball out of the park with styling with a standout feature being the map style table layout.
Bridal & Groom preparation were both held at Headlam Hall which makes life for a wedding photographer so much easier as I can hop both preps super easy. The morning was filled with belly laughter from both bride and grooms parties and by the time the ceremony came I felt like I had a new set of BFF’s! It was only a matters of hours into the wedding before Mike had bestowed me a nickname (a true sign of eternal friendship) on to me. I mean he was only calling me “Hugo” but its a nickname none the less!
The Coach House at Headlam Hall is beautifully lit by a glass skylight from covers most of the building and makes it an absolute dream to shoot under! After Emma & Mike had exchanged rings and the “I do’s” we snuck off to grab some portraits of the newly weds and take full advantage of the stunning grounds that Headlam Hall has to offer. It has a wonderful maze as well as a beautiful stream that run at the back, which I did not end up in at any point! Honest! OKAY I totally ended up in the stream.
After we return (me with wet feet) it was time to celebrate, and oh boy did these guys celebrate! The rest of the day was spent with family and friends, dancing and singing, wearing silly masks for the photobooth and everything in between! I can’t begin to thank this awesome couple enough for having me! I ended up feeling more like a guest than I did a supplier and that means a lot to me. I had been so excited for this wedding since first meeting Emma & Mike and it ended up being even better than I could imagine!
