2022-Year In Review~
2022; you big, beautiful bastard you. I’m never 100% sure how much I’m meant to write with these end of the year reviews; I always worry I’m oversharing and I’m never really sure how many people actually read them. But here we are at the end of 2022 with another full season in the bag and possibly my favourite year running this little business as a Creative Wedding Photographer. For anyone whose followed me for while will know that I held off going full time as I always thought something would go wrong, but at the end of 2019 I bit the bullet and started 2020 thinking, this is my year! Only for the world to go NOPE! After slogging through 2020 and then finally getting back to some normality in 2021, I was so excited for what 2022 would deliver!
And 2022 certainly delivered!
I knew before it ever started that this would be a busy year but I had no idea just how much work was going to have to go in. I have been everywhere this year all the way from Scotland to Portsmouth and everywhere in between. I have shot in the most beautiful churches, rustic barns, tipis, back gardens and even on the seafront and one thing I’ve been so grateful of this year has been how many incredible new venues I’ve been able to visit. What I’ve always loved about this job is that I get to see so many unique takes on the concept of a wedding, whether that be big or small, traditional or non traditional.
However this year has taken a massive toll on me, I’ve felt very absent from friends and family, and events that I’d normally love to take part in, but to keep up and make sure that all my galleries were delivered on time, I knew it had to be done. Thankfully I have an amazing support team around me who’ve never let me down and have been my real driving force over the last few years.
But the real heroes of this year have been my couples, their guests and every supplier I’ve had the pleasure of working with during 2022! Every single wedding this year has been spectacular and I’ve spent almost the whole year with a smile on my face whether that be whilst I’m shooting or reliving the day whilst editing! I’ve had so many memorable moments that I’ll never forget and a whole bunch of new friends that I picked up along the way!
So for now, 2022 I’ve loved you.
And for everyone who played a part, I love you all.
Thank you x
