Elopement Photographer ~ Ashleigh & Sean
“Pete took a lot of natural shots of us, for which we’re very thankful. We are really shy in front of the camera and he made us feel so comfortable and happy – it shows in the images!”
Cloudy skies, a stately home, an intimate outdoor ceremony, an elopement photographer and two cool AF Canadians. I hope I’ve set the scene.
Ashleigh & Sean’s wedding is one that has been on my mind a lot with the recent news regarding weddings during Covid-19. Now that smaller ceremonies can go ahead, the dream of shooting more elopements seems like a fantastic way to get hitched! Maybe you’ve decided to make your wedding just about you two or maybe you’ve had to postpone and you want an excuse to get dressed up and mark the date that should have been in a special way. Elopements and elopement styled shoots can be the perfect way to do this.
Ashleigh & Sean tied the knot on a gloomy day in North Yorkshire, in the blistering cold at Swinton Park. They had decided to travel to England from Canada for a wedding just for two! After enjoying their favourite cocktail together (An Old Fashioned), Ashleigh & Sean got ready together before meeting on the reception lawn in front of Swinton’s glorious castle turret. The sun was hiding away and the temperature dropped. The freezing cold didn’t stop Ashleigh, who was an absolute trooper on the day.
After the ceremony, the happy couple and I took a wander around the Swinton Estate to capture some kick ass portraits. I couldn’t have asked for a more natural, relaxed couple. From start to finish these guys were an absolute pleasure to work with and although I was only with them for a few hours I genuinely felt I’d known them a lifetime. I’ve done a handful of weddings which only include the Bride and Groom and I absolutely LOVE them! As much fun as a big wedding is, stripping away everything to just focus on the couple is something really special and unique.
