Houchins Wedding Venue Photographer ~ Claudia & Adam
“He made us feel so comfortable. If you’re looking for a photographer then there is no better than Peter.”
Buckle up, this ones an adventure.
My story with Adam & Claudia begins when Adam got in touch to enquire about a surprise proposal where I’d be capturing the whole event whilst hiding in a bush. It’s as bonkers as it sounds but after our first correspondence I was all in. To cut a long story short, all went well and Claudia said yes! A little time later, A & C got in touch to talk to me about their big day and if I’d be up for shooting it. Of course I accepted and was over the moon to be shooting at the gorgeous, Houchins Wedding Venue. This was my first time shooting at Houchins and it is the most stunning of venues!
I love getting to shoot at new venues as it’s a way to flex the creative muscles and try new things. I always start by having a snoop round the venue and the grounds to make sure I have a good idea of where I think is best to shoot. Houchins grounds are filled with colour and texture making every corner a potential spot to shoot.
After this I spent time with both Claudia and Adam whilst they got ready. Adam and his groomsmen spent their time trying to figure how bow ties work whilst my time with Claudia was mainly spent doing our best Brian Butterfield impressions to each other. To say it was a chilled morning is putting it lightly.
The ceremony was held outside the main barn and as Claudia walked down the aisle with her Dad, Adam couldn’t hold back the tears. After the ceremony A & C celebrated with their guests before we got chance to slip away for some portraits and when I say the lighting was chefs kiss, I mean it was CHEFS KISS!
The rest of the evening was super relaxed with speeches, laughter and tears before heading into the first dance which went off and ended with both Adam & Claudia being lifted into the air on chairs for a celebratory Hora. Before saying goodbye and hitting the road I managed to sneak in some extra portraits of them with some fashion inspired direct flash shots.
This was a blast from start to finish and has been such an incredible adventure to journey on with A & C. A big shout out to all the suppliers but especially 3 Cheers Media who was a pleasure to work along side of. As always thank you to Adam & Claudia, it was an honour to capture.
